Tariq Tamir: All This Time

June 21 – July 19, 2014
Reception: Saturday, June 21, 3 – 6pm
Artist Talk: Friday, July 11, 7pm

The Riverside Arts Center is pleased to present All This Time featuring new work by RAC instructor Tariq Tamir.  For the exhibition, Tamir will create a site-specific installation in both the gallery and sculpture garden.  Large 2D wall panels serve as theatrical backdrops for whimsical sculptural pieces, constructed from a wide variety of found objects.  Anything goes and any material is fair game, as Tamir builds a sci-fi world where the tension of the man-made and natural worlds collide.  With the impulse of making a cornerstone of his practice, “nature always wins,” according to Tamir.  Ultimately, the audience is the recipient of a generous visual vocabulary, as they are confronted with singular work that has been steadily crafted and honed over time to embody a deeply personal vision.
