Creativity Fest Workshops:  Featuring themes of love and care and Black History Month

ALL ARE WELCOME! Fun for all ages.

Join us for Creativity Fest; an Open House Family Day Format. Every Saturday in February from 10 AM to 2PM. Creative projects and Family activities. Projects for kids ages 5+ *options available for younger kids too!

Stay the whole time, or as long as you like!

Suggested minimum donation $10/person each day

Saturday, February 4th:

  • A community project in the FlexSpace – Community Feedback project – show us some love! Share some love! Respond to our community planning prompts on large paper scrolls. These will remain throughout the month. 

  • Affirmation ornaments: with Ameera Pernabsatti Lys. How do you show love to yourself or others? Decorate your own clay heart affirmation ornament to take home for yourself or as a gift to give. A valentine to your-self & others!

  • Handlettering for Valentines and other things: workshop with Helen Boggess. Includes activity options for children younger than 5.

Saturday, February 11th:

  • Handprints with hearts: Fun paper stained glass-like project with Shawn Vincent

  • Tortilla Press Printmaking: with Alex Velazquez Brightbill. Bring your ideas and curiosity to make your own printed card or valentine in Alex’s Tortilla Press! Alex will be teaching ‘chine colle’ to add your own mix of color to your print.

  • Margi Glass Sula artist talk at 2 PM in the Sculpture Garden and Freeark Gallery

Saturday, February 18th:

  • Found object sculptures: with Tariq Tamir emphasizing use of natural materials, in alignment with Margie Glass Sula's works.

  • Community mosaic workshop honoring Black History Month with Ameera Pernebsati Lys

  • Origami Animals and Birds: with Olivia Vincent

  • Bobbi Meier artist talk at 2 PM in the Freeark Gallery

Saturday, February 25th:

  • Found object sculptures: with Tariq Tamir emphasizing concepts of hard and soft in response to Bobbi Meier's works

  • Paper bag hand puppets : with Olivia Vincent

When you register, find your date and choose Option 1 for the $10 per person minimum suggested donation, or select Option 2-5 on any date to make an additional donation (in $5 increments) to add to your registration. Thank you!
