Aino Dotor works mainly in the mediums of printmaking and collage. Her prints depict natural symbols and elements in order to explore the meaning of physical matter. Dotor searches for universal ideas in her work—what Jung called archetypes—that manifest themselves through symbols. In this exploration all artificial constructions, such as frontiers, objects, even social artifacts, become diluted. Dotor’s collages show a combination of elements that create a personal language addressing notions of time and life. Aino Dotor is an artist and educator from Spain, where she received her studies in Fine Arts degree. She works mainly with printmaking and collage as artistic means of expression.
